Bio

Wojciech Sojka is a 22 years old violinist and composer born in Lubin, Poland. In 2018 he graduated from the Z. Brzewski Talents High School in Warsaw, in prof. Marek Szwarc`s violin class and prof. Slawomir Czarnecki`s composition class. Currently, he is a student on the third year of his bachelor's degree on Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Jan Stanienda`s and Roksana Kwaśnikowska`s violin class. Wojciech Sojka has multiple achievements on national as well as international competitions both as a violinist and a composer. He played numerous concerts as a soloist, orchestra member and chamber musician in Poland, Italy, Germany, and Austria. His most important achievements include: the 1st prize at The 26th Young Musician International Competition ‘Città di Barletta’ in Italy; the 1st prize and two special prizes at the IV Chamber Music Forum in Warsaw; a Grand Prix for the best duet, 1st prize in the best modern piece performance category, 1st prize in the best composition category, 2nd prize in the best duet in students category, and a special award – a concert in NOSPR (National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra) in Katowice at the VIII International Harp Duets Competition in Cieszyn; the 3rd prize at the XIV National Competition for Young Instrumentalists in Rybnik; the 1st prize and an Audience Award for the best composition at the XIX Composition Competition within XXII Students Music Forum in Warsaw- composition was later performed at the Royal Castle in Warsaw. Since 2010 Wojciech Sojka has also took part in many music master classes including: The Zenon Brzewski International Music Courses in Łańcut, International Courses of Music Interpretation in Nowy Sącz, International Music Courses "Stringtime Niederrhein" in Goch (Germany), Music Workshops of The Krzysztof Penderecki European Centre for Music in Lusławice (organized by the National Children's Fund), The Jakub Walasek Janowiec Interpretations of Music and The Tadeusz Wroński International Music Courses in Nałęczów. He perfected his skills with such masters as: Jan Stanienda, Roksana Kwaśnikowska-Stankiewicz, Marek Szwarc, Andrzej Gębski, Walentyna Jakubowska (Russia), Maria Orzechowska, Marek Czech, Krystyna Makowska-Ławrynowicz, Krystyna Borucińska, Iwona Mironiuk-Tołwińska and Łukasz Chrzęszczyk. Wojciech Sojka has also been a scholar of: Polish Children`s Fund, a scholarship from the Mayor of Piaseczno (twice), a scholarship from the Rector of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw (twice) and the National Centre for Culture in Poland.
