Bio

Andreu Diport (1998) is a composer, orchestrator and arranger based in Barcelona. He studied at the Montserrat Abbey Choir School, at "Oriol Martorell" Artistic School, and at the Municipal Conservatory of Barcelona. He began his composition studies at the Catalonia College of Music (ESMUC) in Barcelona with Bernat Vivancos and Mauricio Sotelo. Currently, he continues his formation with Paweł Łukaszewski and Tomasz Opałka at the Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, sponsored by "Fundació Universitària Agustí Pedro i Pons". He has collaborated with numerous performers such as the Polski Chór Kameralny, the Vallès Symphony Orchestra (OSV), the Chamber Choir of the Palau de la Música Catalana, BCN216 ensemble, "Amics de l'Òpera de Sabadell" Choir, Granollers Chamber Choir, Noctes Chamber Choir, Sant Jordi Choir, Cobla Sant Jordi - Ciutat de Barcelona, Carles&Sofia Piano Duo, and Vicenç Prunés, among others. He has been premiered at important venues such as the Palau de la Música Catalana, L'Auditori (Sala Oriol Martorell), Gdańsk Archcathedral (Gdańsk, Poland), Sala Verdi (Milan, Italy), Girona Concert Hall, Granollers Concert Hall (TAG), Montserrat Abbey, Santa Maria del Pi, and "Casal del Metge" Concert Hall, among others; and in festivals such as "Sant Pere de Rodes" Music Festival, "Besalú" Músic Festival, and "Cervera" Music Festival. He has recorded for KNS Classical and part of his music is published by Ficta Edicions. In the season 2020-2021, he was awarded the 1st Prize at "Musica Sacra Nova" International Composers' Competition. As a result, he has been premiered by the Polski Chór Kameralny (Gdańsk, Poland) and, within the next seasons, he will be published by Schott Music (Germany), and he will collaborate with "Jauna Muzika" Choir (Vilna, Lithuania), and Trinity College Choir (Cambridge, UK), conducted by Stephen Layton. Awards and Recognitions: 1st Prize at XVII International Composers' Competition "Musica Sacra Nova" (Europe). 1st Prize at "La Sardana de Stravinsky" Composition Competition (Spain). Distinction at International Composition Competition "AERCO: My First 50 Years" (Italy). 1st Prize at II International Composition Competition "Benvingut Socias" (Spain). 1st Prize at I Choral Composition Competition "Joan Maragall" (Spain).
