Department of Instrumental and Pedagogical, Music Education and Vocal Studies UMFC Branch in Bialystok

Department of Instrumental and Pedagogical, Music Education and Vocal Studies UMFC Branch in Bialystok was established in 1974 and is the only institution of this type in Poland on the eastern side of the Vistula river.

During more than four decades of its operation, the Faculty has successively enriched its educational offer and currently conducts first and second cycle studies in the following fields:

·       Instrumental studies in the following specialties: instrumental pedagogy - playing the piano, organ, harpsichord, violin, viola, cello, double bass, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, saxophone, horn, trumpet, trombone, tuba, accordion, guitar, percussion

·       Artistic education in the field of musical art in specialties: running music bands, school music, church music

·       Vocals in specialties: solo singing (1st grade) and vocal pedagogy - solo singing (2nd grade)

In addition to the classes included in the study program, students can participate in the activities of numerous scientific and artistic clubs, including: Early Music, Film, Chamber, Organ, Sacred Music, as well as Pianists and Music Education.
The Faculty is actively involved in artistic activity, both by organizing weekly concerts entitled ‘Scena Mistrzów’ close cooperation with the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic, as well as performances by groups: Student Symphony Orchestra, Brass Band, Sinfonia Academica Chamber Orchestra, Big Band and the Faculty Choir.
The teaching staff of the Faculty consists of recognized artists who give concerts on the most important national and foreign stages, whose recordings have been nominated and awarded the ‘Fryderyk’ Music Award many times.
