Assistant Professor at the Department of Musical Acoustics and Multimedia at The Chopin University of Music (UMFC). Doctor of Arts in Musical Arts, the artistic discipline of sound engineering. A graduate of the Sound Engineering Department of The Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw.

Award-winnng photographer and documentary filmmaker. Author of films for Chopin University Press. Creator of the VideoLab, an audio-visual technology laboratory at the UMFC. 

In the 1980s Artymowicz was a pioneer of computer sound post-production technology in Poland. Worked in 1993-1999 in the first computer sound studio of Polish National Television, later at the Documentary and Feature Film Studios in Warsaw. Created soundtracks for 300 television films and 100 Dolby Digital® 5.1 and THX® feature films by the best Polish film directors. Nominated for the Polish Film Awards "Orły" for the best sound. Lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and the Academy of Film and Television. Certified Apple Pro Applications trainer and co-creator of the first Apple Pro Applications educational center in Poland at the Academy of Fine Arts.

Expert in sound simulation for commercial flight simulators. Author of sound simulations for propeller and jet aircraft, including: Beechcraft Bonanza, Beachcraft Baron, F-16, Boeing 737 MAX. Creator of a method for extending realism in simulators through the use of multi-channel cockpit vibration systems. Designer of advanced flight simulation systems. Certified unmanned aerial vehicle pilot. 

Artymowicz is an expert in Flight Safety. His projects have been distinguished e.g. in the European Commission's SESAR competition for the best projects Air Traffic Safety projects. Served as an expert of the national prosecutor's office in analog-to-digital conversion and analysis of recordings from Cockpit Voice Recorder.

Member of the Polish Film Academy (PAF), the Polish Filmmakers Association (SFP), the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE), the Audio Engineering Society (AES), and the Interactive Audio Special Interest Group (IAsig). In 1999 Artymowicz won the Grand Prix at the International Competition of the Society of Contemporary Music for the multimedia project „Clouds".
