Joanna Sibilska

She worked in the Warsaw Theatre Museum, and in the Feliks Parnell Ballet School in Łódź. She has lectured in the Frederick Chopin University f Music in Warsaw for over 20 years. Currently works as a certified teacher in the Roman Turczynowicz Ballet School in Warsaw and gives ectures in the PAN Art Institute, the Masovian Institute of Culture and in the University of the Third Age.
Main achievements
An author of historical texts pertaining to ballet, such as *Warszawskie teatrowisko*, wyd. Teatr Wielki-Opera Narodowa 2018, *The artistic influence of Filippo Taglioni on ballet in Warsaw during the romantic period*, *Filippo Taglioni padre dell ballo romantico* - Roma 2023, quarterly magazine „Szkoła Artystyczna” by Centrum Edukacji Artystycznej, numerous ballet programmes (Warsaw Grand Theatre, Śląsk Opera, Wrocław Opera), as well as articles on the National Institute for Music and Dance website - taniecPolska.pl. She is the author of the biographical entries of the ballet artists in *Słownik biograficzny teatru polskiego* (Biographical dictionary of Polish theatre), t. III, wyd. IS PAN, Warszawa 201. As a specialist in ballet collections in Warsaw Grand Theatre - National Opera, she prepared materials for the website which consisted of 247 ballet premieres and she developed 100 biographies of dancers and choreographers. She also prepared the core curriculum for the subjects 'knowledge about dance' and 'history of dance', as well as *Informator maturalny z historii tańca* (Matura directory for ballet history). She conducted the editorial of Irena Turska's *Krótki zarys historii tańca i baletu* (Short outline of the history of dance and ballet), PWM Kraków 2024. Received the Badge of Merit for Cultural Activism and a medal of commendation from the UMFC.
