Ha Seok Be
Tenor Ha Seok-Be, who is recognized as a top artist on the world's opera stages for his refined and precise music, graduated from Kyung Hee University in Seoul and the Milan Verdi National Conservatory of Music in Italy's Vocal Music Department.
He has won awards at the world's most prestigious WFIMC-registered international vocal competitions, such as the Verdi-Busseto, Viotti-Vercelli, Viñas-Barcelona, and Bilbao vocal Competitions, and is also the Asian with the most winners. At the time, he was highly praised as a "tenor with the best musicality and sound" by famous vocalists such as Plácido Domingo, Montserrat Caballe, and John Sutherland, who were the judges of the competition.
He was invited as the only Asian and tenor to "Tomorrow's Stars of the World Music World" hosted by the European Broadcasting Union (RAI.ART.ZDF), and made a splendid debut on the European stage, receiving great acclaim for his "dramatic repertoire, emotional and delicate musicality, and explosive vocal power." After that, he received the "Best Tenor Award" from the city of Milan (2000), and while actively performing at major European opera houses, he successfully performed the role of Radames in Aida at the invitation of the National Opera Company in 2004 and returned to Korea.
After returning to Korea, he was the first Korean to be invited to the Milan Verdi National Conservatory of Music in Italy as a master class professor, and has expanded his activities beyond Europe, where he was active, to the United States, China, and Japan.
Since 2005, he has also been active as a classical commentator on a famous Korean broadcasting station, and has been drawing the public into the world of authentic classical music through performances and various lectures.
He is currently serving as the Dean of the College of Music and Performing Arts at Keimyung University, the Director of Keimyung Arts Center, and a professor in the Department of Vocal Music.
He is currently serving as a judge in major vocal music competitions around the world.
