Mateusz Krzyżowski is the First Prize winner of the I. J. Paderewski International Piano Competition in Bydgoszcz (2022) and a semi-finalist of the 18th International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw (2021). He is recognised for the refined sensitivity of his sound and a natural, unforced musical narrative, distinguished by clarity of form and a deep affinity with the composer’s intentions. He performs on major stages across Poland and abroad, collaborating with leading conductors and orchestras.

A graduate of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, where he studied with Professor Joanna Ławrynowicz-Just (2023), Krzyżowski is the laureate of numerous piano competitions, including: Second Prize at the 19th International Animato Piano Competition in Paris (2025); First Prize at the I. J. Paderewski International Piano Competition in Bydgoszcz (2022), First Prize at the 12th International “Arthur Rubinstein in Memoriam” Young Pianists’ Competition in Bydgoszcz (2021), and First Prize at the National Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition (2018). In 2021, he represented Poland in the semi-final of the 18th International Chopin Piano Competition, where his performances were warmly received by both critics and audiences.

He has appeared in venues across the United States, Japan, France, Germany, Slovakia, Hungary, Lithuania, Ukraine and the United Arab Emirates. In Poland, he has performed at the National Philharmonic in Warsaw, the NOSPR Concert Hall in Katowice, as well as in other leading concert halls throughout the country.

His artistic collaborations include work with Łukasz Borowicz, Kai Bumann, Marek Moś, Michał Klauza, Wojciech Rodek, Mirosław Jacek Błaszczyk, Alexander Humala, Marek Wroniszewski, Jan Miłosz Zarzycki, Jakub Chrenowicz and Jurek Dybała.

His discography includes three chamber music releases: Peine et Plaisir (Requiem Records), Interwar Retrospections and The Most Beautiful Songs (Sarton Records).

He is a recipient of prestigious scholarships, including the Polish Ministry of Culture’s “Young Poland” programme, and in 2024 was awarded the Magna cum Laude Medal as the top graduate of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music.
