Paweł Chomczyk

Department: Department of Instrumental and Educational Studies of the UMFC Branch in Bialystok

Graduate of the Aleksander Zelwerowicz Theatre Academy in Warsaw, Department of Puppet — Theatre Arts in Białystok, as well as University of Białystok, Department of Pedagogy and Psychology. Assistant Professor at the Department of Instrumental and Educational Studies in Białystok, Fryderyk Chopin University of Music. He is an actor, puppeteer and producer of performances.

Paweł Chomczyk

President of the board of the Foundation of Creative Acts ‘Coincidentia’ and member of the board of the Society of Artistic Promotion. A co-founder of independent theatres – Doomsday Company and Coincidentia Group. The performances carried out with Paweł Chomczyk and co-produced by him were presented at theatre festivals and on impresario stages in Europe, North America and Asia.

He has won numerous individual acting awards (e.g. Grand Prix at the Paderewski Festival in Buffalo, USA, Grand Prix at the 4th International “Kon-Teksty” Festival in Poznań), as well as awards  for performances he co-created as a producer and actor (e.g. The Bank of Scotland Herald Angel and Total Theatre Award at Fringe Festival in Edinburgh).

He was a holder of a scholarship of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage as part of the programme The Young Poland. As an actor he collaborated with the A.Węgierka Drama Theatre in Białystok, Theatre of Puppets in Białystok, Pomeranian “Baj” Theatre in Toruń, “Rampa” Theatre in Warsaw, Theatre of the Polish Radio; and as a teacher he cooperated with the Department of Theatre and Dance, University in Buffalo (USA) and the Department of Puppet of the Theatre Academy. As a member of the international Krabat Ensemble he permanently cooperates with German theatres Lindenfels Westfluegel Leipzig and Figurentheater Wilde & Vogel. Apart from theatre performances, on his artistic score card he also has roles in radio dramas and film productions.
