Agnieszka Zwierko-Wiercioch

vocal studies

Opera singer. Resident of Warsaw. Graduate of Warsaw Polytechnics – Computer Science and Electronics Department and F.Chopin Academy of Music – Vocal Department. She also graduated piano and singing studies in music schools of Ist and IInd degree. In 2015 she has got the PhD in music. In January 2021 she got the title of doctor habilitated professor of musical arts in the musical discipline of vocal studies. 

In 2024 she got the state title Professor of art in discipline of music.

In 2016 she got a special title Honorary Golden Engineer, as the graduate of Technical University developing her career in another discipline (opera singer)

Since 1990 she has been collaborating with Polish theatres and philharmonic halls such as Wielki Theatre – National Opera in Warsaw, Wielki Theatre in Łódź, Wielki Theatre in Poznań, Cracow Opera, National Philharmonic in Warsaw, Cracow Philharmonic, Poznań Philharmonic and Białystok Philharmonic, Opole Philharmonic.

Soon after her international debut in 2000 she has become a frequent guest on the major stages in Europe and worldwide, such as Teatro Regio Torino, Wexford Opera Festival, Aphrodite Opera Festival, Beijing Music Festival, Royal Opera Copenhagen, Slovak National Opera Bratislava, State Opera Prague, National Moravian – Siesian Theatre in Ostrava, State Theatre in Košice, State Opera in Banska Bystrica, Teatro Massimo Palermo, Teatro Massimo Bellini Catania, Semperoper Dresden, Leipziger Oper Teatro alla Scala Milano, ABAO Bilbao, Teatro Cervantes Malaga, Opera de Oviedo, Gran Teatre del Liceu Barcelona, Opera Lyra Ottawa, Accademia di Santa Celicia Roma, Musashino Concert Hall Tokyo, Teatro Colon Buenos Aires, Komische Oper Berlin, Staatsoper Berlin, Theater an der Wien, Stadttheater Klagenfurt, Landestheater Innsbruck, Royal Opera House Covent Garden London, Opéra de Montréal, Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels, Teatro Real Madrid, Glyndebourne on Tour, Glyndebourne Opera Festival, Opera National de Paris – Opéra Bastille, Opéra de Toulon.

Among stage directors she enjoyed to work with are Marek Weiss – Grzesiński, Janusz Kijowski, Stanisław Brejdygant, Krzysztof Warlikowski, Michael Tarant, Yannis Kokkos, Giulio Ciabatti, Lamberto Puggelli, Roberto Laganà Manoli, Stéphane Braunschweig, David Pountney, Jossie Wieler, Ivo Van Hove, Christof Loy, Barrie Kosky, Alain Gauthier, Laurent Pelly, Carlos Wagner, Damiano Michieletto, Fiona Shaw.

Agnes was co-presenter of a new programme on Radio RDC on Friday nights at 23.00 from 1st September 2020 to 1st September 2023. Nocne Zwierki takes a sometimes serious, sometimes humorous, look at cultural and other topics.

With her Mamma Lucia in “Cavalleria Rusticana” by Pietro Mascagni in Opéra de Toulon in 2024 she concluded her opera stage activity.

Since 2017/2018 season she took up the Professor of Singing position at the Fryderyk Chopin Music University, in its Bialystok subsidiary, where she is working continuously with young singers leading them to to start their singing careers.

In 2023 she got the bronze medal Distinguished for Culture Gloria Artis.
