Bożena Violetta Bielecka

Professor of Music Arts, Department of Instrumental and Educational Studies in Białystok of the FCUM. She finished primary and secondary music school in Białystok (Professor Z. Frankiewicz’s piano class) and graduated with honours from the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw (Professor Ryszard Zimak and Professor Józef Bok’s classes).

She leads two choirs: “Schola Cantorum Bialostociensis”, the Music School Group’s girls’ choir, and “Cantica Cantamus”, the Białystok Chamber Choir.

In 1999–2005 she was head of the Choir Conducting Unit at the Białystok Branch of the FCAM in Warsaw (now the Department of Instrumental and Educational Studies in Białystok).

She initiated and organized three Young Choirmasters Competitions at the Białystok Branch of the FCAM. In 1995–1999 she was employed at the F. Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz. In 1995–1997 she was vocal consultant to the Operatic Choir at the National Opera Theatre in Warsaw.

She teaches a singing class at the I. J. Paderewski Music School Group in Białystok. She has been president of the Friends of Choral Music “Cantica Cantamus” Society and organiser of the International Workshops for Polish and Polish Emigrant Youth since 1998. She has been artistic director of the International Podlaski Festival “Łapskie Te Deum” since 2000.

She sits on the juries of choir festivals and competitions in Poland and abroad.

During the term of office of 2008–2012 she held the function of Deputy Dean of the Department of Pedagogical and Instrumental Studies in Białystok of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music.
