Zbigniew Raubo

A laureate of the F. Busoni Competition in Bolzano (1991), the F. Liszt Competition in Utrecht (1992)—to date, the only Polish laureate of this prestigious competition—and the K. Szymanowski Competition in Łódź (1987).
He graduated with distinction from the Academy of Music in Katowice in the class of Professor Andrzej Jasiński, whose assistant he later became. He currently holds the position of professor at his Alma Mater. Since 2025, Zbigniew Raubo also working as a professor in the Piano Department at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. In June 2013, the President of the Republic of Poland awarded him the title of Professor of Musical Arts. In 2023, he was awarded the Gold Cross of Merit and also holds the title of Ambassador of the City of Kalisz.
Zbigniew Raubo has performed in all philharmonic halls in the country with leading Polish conductors, including Jerzy Maksymiuk, Antoni Wit, Agnieszka Duczmal, Jerzy Salwarowski, Mirosław J. Błaszczyk, Marek Pijarowski, Tomasz Bugaj, Jerzy Swoboda, Krzysztof Missona, Łukasz Borowicz, Marek Moś, Czesław Grabowski, and Renard Czajkowski. His repertoire includes over 30 works for piano and orchestra. His artistic achievements include a recital at the Chopin Festival in Vancouver and the "Poolse Meesters" Festival in Belgium, piano workshops and a concert at the Campos do Jordao Festival in Brazil, and a recital and master class at the International Chopin Festival in Duszniki-Zdrój. He has made numerous recordings for domestic and international record companies, including: Japanese branches of Deutsche Gramophon and RCA, International Music Corporation, DUX, and Żuk Records.The pianist also enjoys chamber music and has performed with the Silesian, Wilanów, and Camerata Quartets, as well as with Bartłomiej Nizioł, Urszula Kryger, Elżbieta Mrożek-Loska, and Piotr Janosik.
Zbigniew Raubo is an active teacher. In addition to his full-time work at the Academy of Music in Katowice and the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, he meets with young pianists at numerous courses and consults with lower-level music education institutions. He also teaches extensively at piano master classes. His academic activities include, among others, supervising nine doctoral dissertations and reviewing numerous doctoral dissertations and professorships.
He has served on numerous juries in national and international competitions, including the National Fryderyk Chopin Competition. Zbigniew Raubo participated in numerous competitions, including the F. Chopin Competition in Warsaw, the Chopin Competition in Asia in Japan, and the Yamaha Foundation Scholarship Competition. He also served on the jury of the 11th International I.J. Paderewski Competition in Bydgoszcz and the 5th International Baltic Piano Competition in Gdańsk.
His students include laureates of music competitions such as the Liszt Competition in Wrocław, the Liszt Competition in Parma, the International F. Chopin Competition for Children and Youth in Szafarnia, the National Chopin Competition in Warsaw, the Polish Piano Festival in Słupsk, the Euroregio Piano Award in Geilenkirchen, and others. In recent years, his student and current assistant, Tymoteusz Bies, won the first edition of the International K. Szymanowski Competition in Katowice.
