Zbigniew Raubo

Polish pianist, educator, and chamber musician. A graduate of the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, where he studied under Professor Andrzej Jasiński, he has been a multiple recipient of scholarships from the Minister of Culture and the Fryderyk Chopin Society.

He is a prizewinner of prestigious piano competitions, including the Ferruccio Busoni Competition in Bolzano (1991), the Franz Liszt Competition in Utrecht (1992), and the Karol Szymanowski Competition in Łódź (1987). He has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in all major Polish philharmonic halls and in many European countries, as well as in Russia, Canada, Brazil, and Morocco. His repertoire includes more than 30 piano concertos. He has recorded for labels such as Deutsche Grammophon (Japanese division), RCA, DUX, and Żuk Records, and his album Chopin Recital was nominated for the Fryderyk Award in 1996. Since 1993, he has been affiliated with the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, where he works as a professor and mentor to many prizewinning students. Since 2025, he has also served on the faculty of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music. He sits on the juries of competitions in Poland and abroad, including the Chopin Competition in Asia and the Paderewski Competition. In 2023, he was awarded the Gold Cross of Merit.
