It is with great regret and pain that we inform you that on October 20, 2024, at the age of 72, Janusz Olejniczak passed away from us forever. An outstanding pianist and pedagogue, one of the most outstanding contemporary Chopinists. 

This is a huge loss not only to our university, but to world piano music. On behalf of myself and the entire community of the Chopin University of Music, I extend my sincerest condolences to the family.

A Funeral Mass for the intention of Janusz Olejniczak will be held on October 29, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Siostry Wizytki Church, 34 Krakowskie Przedmieście Street, Warsaw. The Mass will be followed by an escort to the family grave at the Old Powazki Cemetery (Gate IV entrance).
