Martin Dafinov is an internationally acclaimed Bulgarian pianist, distinguished by numerous first prizes and special awards from prestigious national and international competitions across Europe. His artistic development began under the guidance of renowned pedagogue Ilza Mincheva and continued at the Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts in Plovdiv, where he graduated with highest honors.
A laureate of competitions in Bulgaria, Serbia, Slovenia, Romania, and Italy, Dafinov has performed extensively throughout Europe, presenting a repertoire that spans from Bach and Chopin to Liszt and contemporary works. His interpretations of large-scale virtuoso compositions such as Liszt’s Totentanz and Après une lecture du Dante highlight both his technical brilliance and profound musical depth.
Alongside his concert career, he is an active chamber musician and educator. He has served as accompanist at the State Opera – Plovdiv and has held teaching positions internationally, including in China. Since 2022, he has been a member of the faculty at the Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts in Plovdiv, continuing his commitment to performance excellence and artistic mentorship.
