Riccardo Terzo is an outstanding Italian bassoonist, born in 1990 in Palermo. He began studying the bassoon at the age of seven and continued his musical education at institutions including the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich, and in Vienna. He is a laureate of the most important international bassoon competitions, including the prestigious International Double Reed Society (IDRS) Competition in the United States.
In 2010, he was appointed principal bassoonist of the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg, and since 2018 he has held the position of principal bassoonist of the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig. As a soloist and chamber musician, he has collaborated with leading European ensembles and orchestras, performing at major music festivals across Europe and worldwide. He also regularly gives masterclasses at renowned music academies.
