Mie Miki – a Japanese classical accordionist of international renown, regarded as one of the most important figures on the contemporary accordion scene. She began her musical education in Japan and later continued in Germany, studying in Trossingen and Hanover. From an early stage, she has been closely connected with European musical life.

She has performed as a soloist with leading symphony orchestras across Europe and Asia, collaborating with distinguished conductors. Contemporary music holds a central place in her artistic activity – she has initiated the creation of dozens of new works for accordion, significantly expanding the instrument’s repertoire. She is the author of numerous recordings, many of which have received critical acclaim. For many years, she has also been active as a pedagogue, serving as a professor at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen.
