Chamber Orchestra UMFC
Tomasz Bińkowski - director
An attempt to establish a string chamber ensemble, training specific musical skills among a group of string instruments, has been made several times at the Warsaw Music Academy. In 1991, the Camerata Academia was established - an orchestra with a permanent lineup, performing under the direction of Włodzimierz Szymański, specializing in early music, mainly performing of oratorio works. Four years later, the Concertino student orchestra, conducted by Michał Klauza, made its debut. Finally, in 1995, on the initiative of Associate Professor Błażej Sroczyński, the Chopin Academia Orchestra was founded under the direction of outstanding violinist Jan Stanienda, which has made its mark in the history of the University with many concerts featuring outstanding artists. Currently, the ensemble performs under the name Chamber Orchestra of the UMFC, and the young people who make up the ensemble work with a different string conductor every year, who specializes in working with such ensembles.
