International  Music Masterclasses "Chopin-Górecki" 2026

We invite you to the “Chopin–Górecki 2026” Music Masterclasses. Following the model of the previous edition, we have prepared many attractions and opportunities for artistic development, including the possibility of rehearsing with an orchestra, individual lessons with leading professors, mental training designed to support artists in preparing for performances, excursions, movie screenings, and concerts.

This year, we welcome participants to the classes of piano, historical piano, harpsichord, and vocal. We encourage you to explore the list of this year’s professors.

Let us meet together at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music – one of the largest and oldest music academies in Europe!

  • Applications

    Applications for the Course are accepted exclusively via the electronic form available at the following link: APPLICATION FORM.

    The form must be completed by 1 June 2026.

    A limit of places per pedagogue applies. Admission to the Course is determined by the order of submitted applications.

    Regulations of the International Music Masterclasses
    “Chopin–Górecki” 2026

    § 1

    The organizer of the International Music Masterclasses “Chopin–Górecki 2026” (hereinafter referred to as the “Course”) is the Chopin University of Music, based in Warsaw, ul. Okólnik 2, 00-368 Warsaw, NIP 525-000-77-15, REGON 000275702, hereinafter referred to as “UMFC” or the “Organizer”.

    The aim of the Course is to enable young musicians from around the world (hereinafter referred to as Participants) to improve their musical skills and develop their talents through participation in masterclasses conducted by an international group of outstanding artists and pedagogues.

    As part of the Course, on-site classes are held at the UMFC building at ul. Okólnik 2 in Warsaw in the following specializations: piano, historical piano, harpsichord, and vocal.

    § 2

    The condition for participation in the Course is filling out the application form available on the Course website and sending a proof of payment to the Organizer’s email address (chg@chopin.edu.pl). The amount of the fee, deadline, and bank account number will be provided on the Course website at: https://chopin.edu.pl/art/festivals-competitions-tournaments/chopin-gorecki

    The Participant is entitled to a refund of the Course fee in the event of resignation no later than on the last day of the application period. In case of resignation at a later date, the fee is non-refundable.

    A minor may participate in the Course, provided that their legal guardian is physically present and confirms this with a signed statement. Only adults may apply for the voice class.

    § 3

    Applications for the Course are accepted solely via the electronic form available on the Course website: https://chopin.edu.pl/art/festivals-competitions-tournaments/chopin-gorecki.

    A limit of places per pedagogue applies. Admission to the Course is determined by the order of submitted applications.
    Due to limited capacity, the Organizer reserves the right to close the participant list earlier. The Organizer also reserves the right to divide lessons between two professors if too many candidates apply to a single instructor.

    § 4

    Each Participant is entitled to four 45-minute sessions with the selected professor. Voice classes, due to their specific nature, will take place exclusively with an accompanist. Classes will be conducted in Polish or English. Upon the Participant’s request, a Chinese, Japanese, or Korean interpreter may be present, subject to availability (for an additional fee). Voice classes may also be conducted in Polish, German, or Italian if this is arranged in advance with the Festival Office no later than one month before the start of the first session.

    As part of the Course program, each Participant is entitled to participate in group classes and lectures dedicated to both specializations.

    Symphonic and chamber concerts featuring Course participants will be held during each of the two sessions. Eligibility for active participation in the Final Concerts is determined by the professors of the respective classes.

    For an additional fee, it is possible to arrange a rehearsal with the Chopin University Chamber Orchestra. A detailed list of repertoire available for the Orchestra will be published on the Course website. Participants recommended by professors will have the opportunity to perform with the orchestra during the final concert. Spaces are limited and assigned in order of application. Fees for a rehearsal with the orchestra: PLN 300/45 minutes (for individuals who are tax residents in Poland and for UMFC doctoral students and trainees), and EUR 150/45 minutes for participants who are tax residents abroad.

    Classes are held according to a schedule established by the Organizer. The professor is not required to reschedule classes missed by the Participant; however, the pedagogue must reschedule classes canceled due to their own absence at a time agreed upon with the Participant.

    Additional lessons may be purchased, subject to the pedagogues’ availability and prior arrangement with the Course Office. Fees: PLN 300/45 minutes (for participants who are tax residents in Poland and for UMFC doctoral students and trainees); EUR 150/45 minutes for participants who are tax residents abroad.

    § 5

    All forms of recording the Course without prior written consent of the Organizer, including audio or photographic recording, are prohibited.

    § 6

    The administrator of the personal data of Participants and their parents/legal guardians processed in connection with the organization, implementation, and subsequent archiving of the Course documentation is the Chopin University of Music, represented by the Rector of UMFC.

    Contact with the UMFC Data Protection Officer, who supervises compliance with data-processing regulations, is available via email at iod@chopin.edu.pl.

    Personal data included in the application form will be processed for the purpose of qualifying for the Course and further participation under the terms set out in the Course Regulations, including contacting Participants, implementing the Course, documenting its progress, and subsequently archiving documentation (Art. 6(1)(a), (e), and (f) of the GDPR).

    Data will be processed only by authorized UMFC employees involved in the Course implementation for the period required for archiving documentation related to the Course, and in the case of data processed on the basis of consent—for as long as such consent is not withdrawn. Data may be made available to other recipients (external entities) only in cases provided by law or to entities that process data under an agreement, such as Microsoft in connection with the use of Office 365 services.

    Providing data in the application form is voluntary but necessary for proper organization and participation in the Course. Failure to provide data will make participation impossible, while failure to consent to the processing of image data will hinder Course organization.

    With regard to data processing, individuals have the right to access their personal data, rectify it, withdraw consent, object to processing, and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Withdrawal of consent for personal data processing will make further participation in the Course impossible but will not affect the lawfulness of data processing carried out before the withdrawal.

    Exercise of these rights is possible via the UMFC Data Protection Officer (iod@chopin.edu.pl).

    Personal data will not be used for automated decision-making, including profiling.
    Data will not be transferred to third countries or international organizations, except for possible processing by Microsoft outside the EEA, with appropriate GDPR safeguards.

    § 7

    These Regulations enter into force on the date of signature by the Rector of the Chopin University of Music.

    § 8

    Submitting an application for the Course is equivalent to accepting these Regulations.
