The Chopin University Chamber Choir was founded in February 2017 and its artistic director is Krzysztof Kusiel-Moroz. The choir is made up of students from various faculties and specialities of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music. The idea behind the ensemble is high quality performance of choral music of all eras, participation in competitions and festivals, promotion of the University on the national and international arena, and preservation of the choral output in the form of archival recordings. The choir, despite its short existence, has numerous achievements to its credit: Silver Diploma and victory in the "Other Conductor" category at the 6th National Festival of Student Choirs "Vivat Academia" in Warsaw, Gold Diploma and Special Award for the best performance of an early music piece at the XXIX International Festival of Religious Music named after Rev. Stanisław Ormiański in Rumia, Grand Prix at the 21st Łódź Choir Festival "Cantio Lodziensis" and participation in the final of the Stefan Stuligrosz Polish Choir Grand Prix competition in Poznań. The ensemble has also participated in major musical events. In 2017, it performed Karol Szymanowski's Stabat Mater together with other participants in the International Festival of Choirs of Music Academies "Ko-ChAM" in Katowice. The choir represented Poland at the international festival of academic choirs 'ESOF Festival 2019' in Tallinn.
Within the framework of cooperation with the Faculty of Vocal and Acting Studies at the UMFC, the choir took part in stagings of the operas Eugene Onegin by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, The Haunted Manor by Stanislaw Moniuszko and The Magic Flute by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart at the Rzeszów Philharmonic, the Świętokrzyska Philharmonic, the Sudecka Philharmonic and the Grand Theatre - National Opera. As part of its own activities, the choir has given concerts at the Mieczysław Karłowicz Philharmonic Hall in Szczecin, the National Forum of Music and Spodek in Katowice, among others.
The ensemble has made a phonographic recording of a cycle of Kurpie Songs by Karol Szymanowski and Roman Maciejewski as part of the album 'Drrrum dana dam', released in 2018, as well as works by composers: professors and pedagogues associated with the UMFC as part of the album 'Lauda anima mea', released in 2022. Both albums were nominated for the Fryderyk Award.
